FINE ART PAINTINGS ON CANVAS and WATERCOLOUR PAPER, HOOKED RUGS and PHOTOGRAPHS by MARY
Mary attended Vesper George School of Art in Boston, married; raised a family in Massachusetts and then decided to become a nurse. She and her husband, Earl moved permanently to the South shore in 1985. They joined the Bridgewater Photography Club and Mary became a member of the Lunenburg Art Gallery and “Green Bay Art Show” which is held in Petite Rivière every summer.
Painting has been a passion since childhood. Her attention to detail in her paintings is probably grounded in her commercial art training and her discipline as a nurse. Realism seems to be a priority; nature and light being her inspiration.
Photography is another passion with an intense interest in capturing the beauty and essence of the landscape around us. She is also an avid rug hooker gaining recognition in “Art Hits the Wall “, a provincial wide call for fibre artists to enter juried shows.
Mary has paintings and rugs in private collections in Canada and the USA. She works in watercolour, acrylic and mixed media on paper and canvas.
